If you are running other computers on your network they're at risk if your infected machine is still on the network. In addition, because most business store critical or sensitive data on their machines a breach or loss of that data could be a disaster. Therefore, it is imperative that we take action to completely remove all malware as quickly as possible.
The Only Way to Be 100% Sure
Unless the system in question is a dedicated machine that cannot go down or contains databases or software that cannot be moved, we always suggest that our business clients allow us to do a full system wipe and reinstall of the operating system and files. This is the only way to be 100% sure that we have removed all of the viruses.
If System Restores Aren't an Option
If we are unable to do a system restore on your system due to the it being a dedicated or mission critical server we can still be very sure that we've removed all malware. We do this by meticuoulsly going through the entire system following detailed removal procedures that allow us to reset at settings that the virus may have altered. Because this process is extremely labor intensive we charge a flat hourly rate for any virus removal of this nature.
